hi, I am one of these clueless people who have difficulty with machines that have a lot of buttons for programming. Also I have hated, absolutely hated, did i mentioned hated having my blood pressure taken (i have this strange fear that the cuff is going to squish my arm and break my bone…i find myself panicking.. i know, stupid, irrational..whatever).
Can you imagine my surprise to discover this? I didn’t even know wrist monitors even existed. Thank you Amazon. The review that cinched it for me was that a lady bought it for her aunt? in her 80’s who finds it easy to use. Okay! If she could figure it out, so could I. I love the big display, all the cool beeps and then the correct beeps for correct positioning, also the memory storage of readings. It’s my new toy right now. I know i am supposed to wait 15 minutes (ie rest) and not have eaten etc for 30..(is that why they make you wait so long to see a doctor for your appointment?) but i have been taking my readings at various times and activities during the day and night, just to discover how my blood pressure varies with whatever i am doing. Fascinating.
So glad i got this. It has taken the terror out of having my blood pressure taken (yipeee) 
Oh yes, and it was half the price on here as it was in the drugstore, yay!!!

Suits a skinny arm!
I had been using an Omron HM 780 for about two years and had nothing against it except for the fact the arm- cuff is thick and rigid and never seemed to get really tight around my thin arm.
Although the 712C model does not have as many features as the 780 one, it warns of the all-important irregular heart beat. Many of the features of the 780 I don’t feel I need.
I compared readings from the two models and they were very close, but I feel more comfortable with the 712C’s flexible arm-cuff. The maximum circumference of your arm for this unit is 13 inches so if your arm is muscular or heavy you will not be able to use this cuff. Be sure to select the box for the 9″ to 13″ cuff as you will pay much more for the larger cuff which is also available.
The 712C model is very reasonable in price, some $23.00 less than the 780, so if it can accommodate your arm and if you don’t need all the advanced features I heartily recommend it over the more expensive one.
One caveat: the 712C does not come with an AC adapter or the required four AA batteries. I was able to use the adapter from the 780 set, but the unit will run fine on the batteries alone.
The Omron 712C is a very nice unit at a remarkably low price. Just bear in mind that the low price is for the smaller cuff only.

Very Accurate and Easy to Use
This is an excellent product. I read many reviews and looked at a lot of these monitors. When I recieved it, I was impressed with the high quality of the materials. It looks like what you would see in a doctor’s office. It is heavy and solid. It comes with a carrying case so you can take it with you.
It is very easy to use. Put the adjustable strap on your arm, push one button, and away you go. The readings are quite accurate. I have taken this to the doctor’s office twice to test against their monitor. The readings were exactly the same. It allows you to take several measurements and average them, which is quite helpful. It has an “irregular heartbeat” indicator that gives peace of mind when it doesn’t indicate! It also keeps measurements in memory but I don’t use that because I keep a separate log on my home computer.
Lastly, it works by battery or with the plug-in adaptor. I have used both and the battery life is quite good.
I would highly recommend this monitor to anyone.

Easy to use. Raw data kept, analysed, and results accessible
The air pressure tube connecting the cuff to the monitor plugs in easily but securely. It only takes a few seconds to secure the blood pressure cuff around an upper arm and only one Start/Stop button needs to be pressed to start a reading. In a few seconds the display turns on and the cuff begins to inflate just enough to stop the blood flow, then the pressure drops slowly over a few more seconds until the blood flow starts again, then the cuff deflates quickly and is easily removed. Systolic pressure, diastolic pressure, and pulse rate are immediately displayed in large, clear characters. Pressing the Start/Stop button again turns off the display (the monitor automatically stores the data). The entire operation takes less than a minute.
Records of past readings and weekly averages of morning and evening readings can be quickly displayed by using either of two large buttons on the monitor.
The software installed easily. After the monitor is connected to a USB port using the supplied cable and the program is run, a simple menu program choice uploads and stores the new data on the computer. Various graphs are available to display the recorded values over time. A report of the raw data can be produced in PDF format or CSV format (for Excel). I printed the PDF report and gave it to my doctor. There is no need to manually record values.
The monitor appears very well designed and manufactured, so I expect it to last years. I think it has excellent value.

Easy and Accurate
I bought the Omron HEM-780 Blood Pressure Monitor in order to monitor the blood pressure of an elderly parent that is living with me. The monitor is very simple to use, and has proven very accurate … as compared with blood pressure readings taken from Hospice nurses visiting at home, and from blood pressure readings taken at a doctor’s office (both taken within a half hour of a reading by the Omron monitor). It’s inexpensive, easy to use, and accurate - not much else needs to be said! But… I will say a little more anyway (lol)! There is also the ability to get weekly and monthly averages, as the system maintains a database of previous readings. Useful for following changes in blood pressure over time, and the significance of a particular reading (we are all different and what is “normal” for one person, is not for another…) The system tracks averages for 2 people and also has the ability for a “guest” to use it without messing up either of the average readings for the two “prime” users. The system can either take a single reading, or use an average of 3 readings to come up with the blood pressure. I use the average of 3 readings, with 30 seconds between readings. It’s all automatic, and very easy to set up!
